Greetings From Asbury Park

Just picked up a 1981 KZ1300. Been sitting for years in a shed and I plan to bring it back to life. This thing jumped out at me on craigslist, a six cyl kaw? With three dueces? Had to buy it, never had anything quite like it. I have a bunch of other bikes, harleys, hondas and triumph triple. I certainly think this will be a challenge. I cant even get the gas tank open, think its rusted shut

Hi,
Once you get around to starting the bike, be aware that the ignition system is one of a kind, only 1981 bike has it.
The igniter is easy to fry, if you manage to do it, original NOS is impossible to find.
We manufacture the replica plug and play igniter, so if you need one, get in touch.
Best of luck with the project.

Welcome to the forum. Take a look at the FAQ section for plenty of advice. I own the 81 model. Any chance of photos?
