How long did it sit? I had an engine that was the same way, on cylinder 3. It had sat with that valve open, and by the time I got it that cylinder sleeve was toast. Fixing it has so far been a nightmare.
Best of luck to you. If you need any help with the teardown or rebuild (or need engine internal parts), let me know. I've got an engine and a half worth of spares.

Hi Beaver good luck with the resto. Kind of looks like the $300 special I picked up a few months ago. The engine was seized. I pulled the head to see what was going on. The pistons were rusted to the cylinder, Looks like the spark plugs were never reinstalled? The bike is only showing 6200 miles on the odometer. I tried soaking each cylinder with acetone and atf for weeks and it wouldn't free it up. I resorted to fire to loosen up the motor. Finally with a big plastic hammer and a lot of physical strength I finally was able to separate the block from the crank case.
