Who does wide wheels rims pro's con's was created by aus_z1300
I have seen a few times people have opted for widened rims with a 180 rear 120 front .
Has anyone here got them know where i could get the rims done in the future and costs.
Is the handling better or worse .

Hi there,I have done the conversion 6 years ago-180 rear and 120x16 front. The handling improved in my opinion considerably but if you need to replace tyres it becomes a real pain-you need to remove the brake discs in order to get the calipers off (front)At the back you need to take the diff of with the wheel as the tyre cannot get past the diff.Cost back then was about R6500.00.That is 600US$ more or less

Try running radial tyres before going the expensive path.
You can get an Avon Azaro which will fir the rear and a Bridgestone BT023 for the front. It's a good combination and everybody I have spoken to who has done it is very pleased with the improvement in handling and mileage. The BMW K100 and K1100 as well as the Suzukis of a similar vintage are mainly the bikes I have seen with them fitted. The BMWs have exactly the same size wheels.

Or try the Michelin Pilot Active line.
I have them both on my KZ1000 and 1300. These tires also improved handling. It's still a bias ply tire with Radial type construction, seems to be a good compromise.

The Pirelli Sport Demon is another that has had good reports and they are much the same as the Pilot Active in that they are bias ply but act far more like radials.
