Here is a little public service announcement about replacing these boots.
I just finished tearing my swing arm off to replace that boot. What I found was that the prop shaft tunnel had completely filled with water. The damage was severe, the u-joint is toast, the swing arm bearing was rusted solid and the bearing race had broken loose from the swing arm. The entire swing arm is just a piece of scrap.
Lucky I have parts to replace everything.

I have found that often there will be something that was commercially available that they chose to use rather than making a one off. But of course finding it is a whole different story.

I was wondering if a piece of inner tube cut to length and of the right diameter would be a suitable substitute.
Or am I talking rubbish?
