Ordered new Shocks

The 79 A1 has been running S&W air shocks. The left has a blown seal, and while it's possible to replace the seal...

Why?

Certainly modern shocks are better now?

Ordered these from YSS.

They should arrive in about 5 weeks.

Fully adjustable - Threaded spring preload, fine-tune rebound clicks, and multi-position compression damping.
 

They even have different spring rates available.

That's a lot of money to pay for rear shocks. But there again, I've had mine for about 10 years. Bought from a company in New York. They were about $1200 Cdn. back then. He also supplied a pair of "Fork Emulators " as they called them. A small adjustable disc that were dropped down  inside each fork tube to give better fork oil control / dampening . It sat on top of the dampening rod, then new shorter fork springs , a pvc spacer , then the top bolt.  Essentially converting the forks to cartridge type. For every day riding , couldn't feel much difference , but looks cool .
