Yes, really helpful and friendly staff - I would have gone for the powder coating option myself but was worried about the effect on the seal for the fluid level window - I did not want to take the risk.
You should be able to press out the sight glass window, refinish the body of the master cylinder and then press back in the sight glass window.

Not sure how to press out the window - how do you access this from inside the reservoir housing? The M-C I got from Ebay has some pocketing on the window as well and I'm also not sure what caused that.  My experience with 40+ year old static seals is to either leave them alone or if disturbed, replace them.  Do you have any data or pictures of the type of seal and dimensions?  Thanks!

Sorry, no data. I would think that removal should be simple. Maybe a sharp edged knife and pry it out? or push it out from the inside through the slot? In any case, there are many suppliers of sight glass windows. Used all over the industry . come in various sizes both Imperial and metric.
