Ideas to save the VIN sticker? was created by McBoney
Hi all,
I'm wanting to powder coat my bike frame, but the guy says the VIN sticker that has the frame number and the date of manufacture on it will be lost due to the high temperatures in the oven.
Any ideas on how to save this/get a replacement? I did make a picture for future reference should I need it to register the bike...
Cheers
Paul

A good vinyl graphics shop can reproduce that for you. Make sure you take measurements (length x width) and make sure you can read everything on your pic. They will literally type out a new one and print it off. Discuss all of this with the shop you choose before starting the powder coat project. Shouldn't cost much more than $10.

You could carefully pull off the original using a very small amount of alcohol or lacquer thinner - or from the guys over there at KZ Rider

Thanks both.
I know of a printer whom I may ask tomorrow, in the meantime I have registered on the KZrider site and approached Kidkawie to see if he can reproduce a VIN sticker for me. His look very good!

Well, just to let you all know Kidkawie from KZriders (or Jay as he is better known as) pulled it out of the bag!
Attached what he produced for me.
I'll now get that printed on white thin plastic and then stick it back onto the frame.
Happy!
And many thanks Tacklehappy for the tip!
Cheers
