Brake rotor bolts
7 years 1 week ago
I've been to automotive store here (Lordco) and Canadian Tire, and they can't give me an answer where could I buy the bolts for the rotors (21 bolts 8x28; they have '7' on them, does it mean hardness '7'?).
Would anyone know where I could get these in Vancouver? (not at a dealership where of course they would charge 50% markup I would imagine).

I purchased almost all of my socket-heads from two local "B.C. Fasteners". I find it hard to believe they can't supply "rotor-bolts" unless they are indicating a "minimum" order number. I've had good experiences buying the "odd-ball" bolts from eBay................if you can wait 8 to 10 weeks for "das Boot" ! I guess that would be "das Junk" (No pun intended)

Thanks Scotch. I also found Pacific Fasteners. I'll see what they have. But yes, some suppliers will not sell a couple screws or a foot of tubing. I've been told to go to Home Depot or Canadian Tire, and they usually don't have what I'm looking for. Especially anything metric.
Do you guys use galvanized or stainless for brake rotors? I'm thinking simple galvanized will be just fine with me.

Hi,Stan san
I use stainless steel socket cap screws for brake rotor.
We can buy them easily in Japan.

Stainless steel isn't particularly strong (might be something to consider if that '7' you noted about is the bolt hardness).

I use Spaenaur in Kitchener Ontario Canada for all of my hard to find fasteners. They've been in business since 1938. Their fastener catalog is over 1700 pages. If they don't have it, it isn't made. Not sure at this point what their shipping costs are like since I usually make a list of what fasteners I need and then trek over to Kitchener to pick up my order. They will sell in any quantity you need be it 1 or 50 etc.
