Hi all, just wondering if anyone might have an original electric fuel solenoid valve for the 13 ??, just tried to get a new old stock one on e-bay but ran out of money, thing went for $309 !!!!, needless to say I will pay for one that works, but not that much, just wanted an original one as the wiring is there for it, any model I guess would be ok, they were used on more than the '79 model, if not then i'll use a "normal" valve I got, it's just a solenoid valve, the one on e-bay was Part number 49116-1008, although in my parts book it's Part number 49116-1001 I think, can't see much difference, anyway thanks in advance, cheers Pete.
after tuesday even the calendar goes WTF

Have a look at EBAY item below.
130977189363
It cannot be any LESS reliable than the original one & does exactly the same job.
Either that of go for a walk along the coast at low tide time & you may find a few other owners have discarded in the sea !!!!
Also make sure you have a break down recovery insurance if you fit the original one......you may need it.

Hmmm now where can I get 110 volts on a 13??, that link is for a 110 volt solenoid, maybe a really really long extension cable?, but have to cut in half our 240 volts
, I already have a solenoid valve that is for a 12 volt DC system, just wanted an original one, everything else on my bike is stock, heck how hard is it to carry a piece of brass or copper pipe to bypass the valve and join the two pipes together incase it fails ?, maybe i'll just put the original one on and make it look like it's connected just to make the bike look original ? no offence meant, sorry I posted, didn't know you hated solenoid valves so much

Apologies.............
Should have looked at the description a bit closer.!!
Be aware though, you can buy 12v fuel solenoids quite easily on the web that will do the job well & not high cost.
Its just a low voltage magnetic switch really.
I saw many owners over the years left at the side of the road or pulling their hair out when the valve failed & the bike would not run.

Might have mentioned it already: I use an aftermarket valvce that I can swith manually with an existing switch I do not need.
Might be easier to get an aftermarket than an original one.
Or you look for a volt-scissor, to cut the 110 volts into the desired size ...
