The service manual definitely worth having. Pretty common, too. Owner's manual is more of a personal preference thing, as most of the info in it is in the service manual as well.
Horn cover grills are pretty rare. Best I can say is keep an eye on EBay, because they do pop up from time to time. One just sold recently, for pretty cheap (not that it helps you now).
If you DO find one, so long as nothing is broken, they're pretty easy to refurbish. Coat of black spray paint to clean them up, and then some metal foil tape can be used to hit the letters and trim pieces.
