Secondary shaft bushings
4 days 22 hours ago
Hi Guys, started putting the engine back together on my '79 A1, and have a question about the 'bushings' on the secondary shaft. The lower crankcase has an oil way on both bushing seats, but no matter which new bush that I use only one of the sides the oil hole lines up(see photo), is this normal? when I stripped the engine down the bushes were located this way, but just wanted to confirm this was ok.

I think you have encountered the same anomaly as Kawboy, with regard to those shell bearings. No doubt he will share his wisdom shortly.

Thanks for the heads up biltonjim, I just went to the feed from that link and it has cleared up my inquiry, have to agree not a real clever way of lubricating vital parts, once again thanks a lot for the help.
