Cam Damper

Hi All,
Is there a significance of the arrow on the Cam Follower? Please see picture.
Does it need to align to something for correct operation? There's no 'keyway' on the splines so I'm not sure what it it's there for.
Thanks in advance,
Andy

The "Driven Shaft Cam Damper "is covered on pages 115 - 119 in the Service Manual and I don't see anything related to the arrow as mentioned. All it talks about is aligning the cam to the middle of the cam follower.
