Relax... in first gear its only about 50mph... maximum torque, so maximum opportunity to slip. But none there!

Second gear gets scarier, but by then I had proved the issue (and arrived at the end of the North Circular!)

Access to oil filter on a Z1300 is very easy unless you have an aftermarket exhaust which restricts access to it.
The standard exhausts run along either side of the filter cover.
