undefined So I'll admit my stupidity, what year did Kawasaki move to the larger capacity oil pan.

They began to show up on some models by 1980. But not all , and as it is a very "in demand " part and hard to come by, if you are looking to buy, don't relay on the date/ year of the bike , but the photo's the seller provides. Search this site to see photo's that show the difference.

Some time back, I had suggested that the Deep Pan may not fit with some headers (D.G. in my case) . NO ONE responded !
Seems this is not the case having seen some pictures (from stan?) showing the physical differences. The pans mounting flange depth (which was my concern until I learned otherwise) is the same for both. The Deep Pan's difference is in the actual sump depth which also requires a longer sump pick up/screen.

Just a comment on how easy it is to miss a post. It has been my experience from time to time, that I have been on the forum, only to come back to the same forum that I was on a few hours earlier to find there are no posts listed about anything . The point being, some new posts or threads have a very short time of exposure. Maybe it's just my laptop, maybe not.

Just a quick comment- when you first login, the default search in new topics is "since last visit" . you need to adjust that to a different search like last 4 hours or last 8 hours or last 2 days etc. It's a selectable box just above the topics box
