Which valve clearance for best results

First some background... The cylinder head is in the shop with brand new valves. The valve seats will be done as well, because of some pitting.
The current shims are 2.30 - 2.40 on Inlet and 2.60 - 2.65 on exhaust.
The manual says: Valve clearance adjustment: Inlet - 0.05~0.15 mm Exhaust - 0.15~0.25 mm.

Based on experience working with these bikes, what is the best clearance one to aim at?

My advice, for what it's worth, start at the widest clearance you can on both the intake and exhaust. The valves will seat in to the valve seats. As they do this, the clearances will tighten up. run it in for 50 to 100 miles and then check your clearances again. After this adjustment you should be fine until the next scheduled adjustment period as reccommended in the service manual.
