Liska Cam Idler Sprocket
8 years 4 months ago
Guys,couple of quick questions please.
Whilst my bike is off the road I was looking at replacing the cam idler sprocket, but my usual two sources for the Kawa OEM nylon item (both recently had them in stock) tell me they are now no longer available from anywhere !
I recall some forum members fitting Liska hvy duty items as replacements, but checking Liska's web site I can only find one item, and its specified as fitting the KZ1000, and their eBay store states it will NOT fit the KZ13.
Its a "long shot" but, does anyone know the part number that Liska use for the KZ13 cam sprocket ?
Also, anyone hear of any horror stories: or is it a safe swap over ?
Many thanks Tim

Just told a guy on facebook about it, recons he contacted them and they have it, also it's on their website :-
I got one a while ago and put it in, no problems with it at all, no "extra" noise

I went to my Kawasaki dealer and had him order 2 nylon replacement gears from Kawasaki Japan. Yup came in 3 weeks later. A bit of a pain.
There are reports from a couple of members stating that the Liska gears tend to be noisy for the first 300-400 miles then they quieten down. That statement makes me question why the initial noise and then what happened to allow them to go quiet. Makes me nervous.

Thanks guys, that will help get me out of another situation.
I can't believe what a b1tch my 13 is being at the moment, with one thing after another (latest curve ball is that might have an igniter fault) - still, I am determined to get the old girl back on song !
Cheers Tim

Tonto, I may have a spare kaw idler which I could sell you. I ordered one from my Kaw dealer and after months of no show it finally arrived a week after I found another new one on Ebay. If I can find it you are welcome to have it for what I paid for it.
