1277ccm or 1286 ccm

Hi all, experts and newbees

just a question: my paperwork states the engine has a size of 1277 ccm, however the engine itself is marked on the outside with 1286ccm.

While asking: What is true might be too difficult as possibly both options can be existing, what does your engine state on the outside ?

1286 on the block but registered as 1300cc with UK DVLA

1980 KZ1300 B2 Touring/A2

I can't find any reference anywhere to 1277ml (cc's) 1286 cc's is the lucky number.

Ditto: 1286 is cast on the top rear of # 6 cyl. Not sure what "paper-work" is referring to unless it's insurance or registration, in which case it's possible someone transcribed it incorrectly.
