I can buy a cheap voyager engine KZT30AE00xxxx
Is this the same engine as my 1979 Z1300 witch has the same numbers?
In other words will this be a spare or project engine for my Z?

If it's a Voyager engine then the engine will not be the same. If it's a 1980 KZ1300-B2 Touring then the engines probably are the same.

Your 79 will have the ignition pick-ups in a mechanical advance and retard pick-up housing to the rear of the cylinders on the right hand side of the chain tunnel.

I think this engine was only used in the '79 A1 and the '80 A2 and B2 models.

Later engines had the pick-ups at one side of the crank or another (Kawasaki tried them on left and right) - not sure which and had completely different ignition modules.

If it is a voyager engine I believe it will actually fit in the frame but you would probably need to make sure you get the ignitor that goes with it - If it's a fuel injected Voyager engine (I thought all Voyagers were injected but I might be wrong) then there's probably more electronics needed but I know very little about the injection models

ok, thanks

I'll pass on it then.. it must be 100% interchangeble don't want to mess with the electronics

would not have been a near future thing anyway ;)
