Hi,

I am sure you may have checked, but have you tried swapping them around & also the wiring from the unit itself into the CDI Unit, as they often corrode & stop the signal.
I have never known one Pick-Up ever fail, it has always been a wire problem.

I do not think they are shared with any other models.

They often come up on Ebay.

Hi

Double check the coil as well and spray all the connections with DeoxIT.

Is there a bike wrecking yard near you? MANY years ago one of my pick-up coils on my '80 1300 failed. I found a replacement from another Kawasaki in a bike salvage yard. It's lasted some 25 years ! I didn't make any notes as to which yr/model bike I scavenged from but my point is: A salvage yard could be a viable option.

I'm a little late to the party but I replaced my 1980 KZ1300B coils with Nology Pro-Fire PFC-30D's. I had to make custom brackets to mount them in the same location but they are terrific and I would recommend them to anyone. They run about $70-$75 a piece for the dual output version. Later.
