Ignition Switch Alternative?
11 months 3 weeks ago
Good Evening Brains Trust,
I didn't know whether to put this post under "Parts & Suppliers", "Wanted & For Sale" or "Electrical/Ignition". Forgive me if I've picked the wrong post (first post here for me)
I've just purchased a 1979 (A1) Z1300 which has been sadly neglected and mistreated by previous owners. I knew I should've walked away.......
Anyway, I'm tackling the list of wrongs one by one. First item on the agenda is the ignition switch, which appears to have had a screwdriver hammered into it by the PO.
Obviously replacement genuine ignition switches are unobtainable (unless someone here happens to have a good second hand one?) so I was wondering if there is a work around with an ignition/lock/barrel/switch from another bike. The narrow diameter lock housing immediately limits options to investigate. Is anyone able to suggest an alternative?
Thanks in advance!

Thanks Scotch and kawaBCN. I've just organised a lock through Helmut at MCG-Z1300. I thought I'd posted a reply to my own query on this yesterday but I must've cocked it up as it's not showing
Thanks for your suggestions and I'm sure that I'll be using those resources in the time ahead.
Thanks again.
