Just so others know - That shiny screw that it referred to is to ensure the control housing is grounded mechanically because there is no dedicated ground wire in the wire bundle. That's because the auto-cancel solenoid is grounded to the inside of the housing.
And - The self cancel feature can be "Jumpered" at the corresponding harness plug, under the tank. In this case the feature will always be ON.

This is the screw. I didn't know about the grounding function, but definitely it is used to keep the controls in place.
