The scanning ability of the AM/FM radio in my 86 ZN1300 is just about nonexistent.
FM scans the complete band and will stop at maybe one or two stations despite the Vancouver area FM frequency band being completely full. Selecting local or distance mode doesn't appear to make a difference. When manually selecting the frequencies they come in loud and clear.
AM won't scan at all using the thumb switch. Using the manual tune buttons only moves the band up or down a few hundred kHz then doesn't do anything. Reception is very poor no matter which frequency selection come up (of the limited few avaible) . Wondering if I have an antenna problem. I know the antenna is working to some extent because when I disconnect it FM reception disappears.
Anyone else have a similar experience? Any usual suspects I should look for or other things to check?
