Accel Coils - 140403 - Mounting? was created by KZashby
Hey Everyone,
I have a set of Accel coils that I am planning to install when restoring this '79 KZ1300. Does anyone have good tips or pictures showing how to mount these coils since they are not a direct fit replacement?
Thanks,
Taylor

I have the Accel coils. They came with the bike and are already mounted. Two are mounted inside the frame and the 3rd hangs drunkenly underneath with wire tires. Not ideal at all. There is about .5 inch space to spare between the 3rd coil and the valve cover so it fits but I'm worried about heat with it so close to the motor. I was considering trying to make some sort of hanger with a heat shield for it.
I'll post a pic of the two in the frame tomorrow. The wiring sucks too. Try to remember I didn't do it this was but I'll be tidying it up. I just got the motor in it last week and I'm ironing out bugs while riding it.

Mine are located two underneath and one above, but there's not much room under there.
Hope this helps.
