Got insurance and put a plate on the KZ today and then off for a ride. I put about 75 Kilometeres on the bike and no problems. Good acceleration ,similar to my last ride a 1995 Goldwng 1500. I only took it to 120 kph but lots left on the throttle.
Oil and coolant levels look good so its a rider for the rest of the season, I think I got lucky on this purchase.

Re: leaking coolant when re-aligning center-stand brackets.
I had to replace my rad. overflow reservoir tank a fews years back when I discovered it was so brittle it would crumble in my hand. It may be that the shock through the frame from Hammering the center-stand brackets may have cracked your overflow tank. There is no other source of coolant in that area so that should be some relief to you. There a few always advertised on ebay but naturally the condition of the plastic could be questionable. Until i could replace the O/F tank, I fully encased the brittle one in fiber-glass cloth and it worked well. Still have it as a back-up.

Thanks for the information, I'll have to check my tank. No further leaks I'm happy to say.
I took the bike to a CVMG (Canadian Vintage M/C Group event on the weekend and it was the only 6 cyl Kawasali there, 2 CBX's .
Never got the award for best 6 cyl as one CBX was primo.
Having fun so far
