coils

I restored a 79 KZ1300 and the coils were cracked so I replaced them with the Accel coils. They were in a kit made for this bike but my stator which is new won't keep up with them,the battery goes dead and the stator is putting out about 20amps.It did graet for about a year I think I may have a bad rectifer I'm open to any suggestions thanks...........................

Did you have a read through the service manual? There's a couple of really good tests in there to help pinpoint if the fault is in the stator or the rectifier /voltage regulator.

How did you determine the charging system is putting out about 20 amps?

I had a tech who has been at this a long time check it and he could only get it to put out amps than it was drawing at 5000rpms.I will check the service manual and see if I can find anything.I ordered a new rectifier just in case
