Fork spring "spacers" ??
10 years 3 months ago
Hi all, I was checking out my parts bike front forks the other day and took off the top caps to swap onto my bike as they were in better condition than the ones on there and I found an interesting piece of "equipment" to space the springs I guess to stiffen the front ??, a couple of sockets, one looks like an impact wrench socket (20mm) that has been turned down to a set length the other is just a standard socket (15/16 x 1/2 drive), seems to be easy and I guess it worked. Always a way to do stuff that's not in the book, plus the drive hole in the sockets allow for the air pressure to get thru from the caps
after tuesday even the calendar goes WTF

that's goes to show there are always people out there thinking.
Funny they went to those lengths at coming up with a spacer when they only needed to use a piece of EMT conduit, that is all the OEM spacer seems to be.
