I'm a Freaking Genius
23 hours 19 minutes ago - 23 hours 19 minutes ago
Put my riding gear on, walked out to the bike, fired her up. Instant start. What's that popping sound? Running like shit and puffin black smoke. Obviously it's getting over fueled.
What the hell, it was running perfect when I put it away three days ago.
Immediately, I'm thinking here we go again, pull the carburetors find a little piece of debris underneath the valve needle. What a pain in the ass. I was just starting to like this bike and now this.
Stewing on it for a moment, I decided to try something radical.
Turn the fuel off.
Start the bike.
Run the bike until the float bowls are empty. Include the choke circuit.
Turn the fuel back on.
Start bike.
Problem solved!
Maybe I'm not a genius maybe I'm just lucky!

I, too, have found that some problems go away if you ignore them.
