BARN FIND KZ 900 POLICE BIKE?

This weekend a KZ 900 from 1976 fell into my hands.
Based on the chassis numbering, it is built in the Lincoln factory.
It is a completely white motorcycle, the fenders and ducktail are made of white plastic and it has pannier racks on the back.
Its condition is deplorable but I paid little for that lump of iron.
I still have to consider whether I bring it back to life or scrap it and sell it for parts.
I don't know anything about the history of this motorcycle, it has no registration or title, I found it in a junkyard.
It may be that it was the version of Policia that some importer brought to Spain.
I unloaded it at the back of the warehouse behind an old tractor, I don't think my wife will ever find it.

More Photos.

If I finally decide to bring him back to life, this is the option I have in mind.
In another life I would like to have been part of the Toecutter band.

It's rough alright. It will take a lot of work - but in view of the cost .
A perfect candidate for a Toe cutter / Goose from the Mad Max movies.
White House - a company in Japan make fibre -glass fairing, seat etc as do  Motobody in the USA- originally Airtech Streamlining

That KZ900 would certainly make an interesting project, but what about Christine? We haven’t heard much about her for a long time. Did you find the source of the noise from the engine?

This past Christmas I have been busy with the ELR 1100.
I already have it finished.
If I'm honest, a couple of days ago I connected the battery charger to Christine, my intention is to continue with her shortly.
I would tell you that I really want to finish that fucking bike but my main motivation is my wife's ultimatum for me to get the back of the garage clean and tidy once and for all.

I've been looking for the chassis number on the right side of the steering head in my KZ900.
I scratched so much that I could almost see the bearing balls but the serial number did not appear.
In the end I decided to scratch the paint on the left side and found the chassis number.

Could someone give me an explanation why there are Kawas models with the frame number on a different side of the motorcycle?

I thought they all went on the right side like the Z13.
