Radiator Drain Plug KZ1300 and many others
7 months 3 weeks ago
Is this a left handed plug? It is plastic and I broke both mine on my two KZ’s in two days doing coolant changes.
Now that the the heads are broke off, yes they leak.
What is a good way to fix the leaking?
I don't care if I don’y buy new and replace because getting the stubby out is also not going well.
I can easily loosen bottom rad hise clamp, take out three shock mounting bolts and renew the fluid.
I just think they must be lefty, and if not they will always break?
If I do grt new how to use a non freeze thread application?
Poopy

It's not a left-hand thread. They are available on evil-bay I think. I had to buy a replacement for mine

Any one who has sealed the resulting dripping past the threads,
Any one who has used any method to remove the stubby with the radiator still installed?

The drain plug has a flange face and there is a rubber gasket washer that seals the drain plug to the rad.
Drain Plug gasket - part# 11009-1152
Drain plug - part# 92002-1682
Both items should still be available at a Kawasaki dealership since they are used on newer bikes
As far as getting out the old plug- drill a hole in the center of the remains of the plug and use a screw extractor
