1968 H1 /Mach 3
2 years 4 months ago
Peachland BC vintage bike show this weekend- Sunday.
So that would include myself, Scotch and Stan -if he is still around.
Anyway. Got me thinking of the last show- and I may have posted this photo a few years ago.
1969 edition of Motor Cycle News. It was a newspaper back then . On the back page there was a grainy ,black and white distant photo of the then new H1 with a very small rider crouched over the tank, at speed , with a short write up of a 12.5 second 1/4 mile time ( claimed )- and how outstanding that time was.
But it was the photo of the bike that stuck in my mind - it was black. No one had ever seen one . The very first model had the white tank and side covers, then the red.
But two years ago , I found out the a few black bikes had been made - and obviously , very rare.
Hope to see it this weekend.

Hope your trip to the show is fruitful. Some pics of what you saw would be appreciated. Love the old vintage stuff. Kudos to those keeping the old girls alive.

Ha ha. Yes. That H2 is a lovely example alright- and black to boot. And with a rider.
But in this case, my vote goes to the H1 -as I have never seen one before.
