Engine number - production day
3 years 8 months ago
Hi guys
I recently saw a video about the famous Z1 and people reported that their engine number (e.g. 141) has been from the first production date. OK, I thought to myself, what does that mean for me and my engine KTZ 000288 ?
is it one from the first day ? Anyone an idea ?
Holger

I have understood that the Kawasaki numbering on bikes reserved the first hundred (0-100) for pre-production bikes. These bikes were used for field tests, bike shows etc.
The series production bikes started from 101. The first year production of 1300s was about 5000 pieces. This would mean 250 production days for 5000 bikes = 20 per day.
Your bike would have been made on the third week of production.
