I too have test drove the full power Tesla a year ago.
The car is unbelieveably fast and responsive and does everything you want a car to do..............but the complete lack of engine noise was a real turn-off for me.
In summary it was just too "clinical" and lifeless as a car to own, but as others have said, it is the future and by 2030 here in the Uk, if you want a new car, its electric or nothing !
I dont really want to think about electric motorbikes..............wonderful engineering I am sure, but if is not sucking petrol, I am not interested !
Time for most of us to accept we are a dying breed !
Happy New Year !

Pete... I live close to Olivers mount race circuit. A couple of years ago, a self built electric bike was winning everything... until it crashed....it's not an easy circuit!! In fact back in the 70s Barry Sheen , once refused to race... he said it was too dangerous.
I will test the tesla there when it arrives.

Stiggy,
I know Olivers Mount very well and used to go there 3 or 4 times a year between 1978 and 1982 for the Gold Cup.
I also remember Sheen stalling his 500 Stroker at the bottom of Mere Hairpin, and the crowd bump starting him UP the hill from the Hairpin.
Nothing against electric bikes, they are very clever, but again just too clinical................and for the next generation who will never experience the bikes WE have ridden and love, like the Z1300 / CBX1000.
Great memories !

I used to go there too when I was a lad back in late 70's.. I lived in Hull at the time. What sticks in my mind was Grahame Crosby aboard a moriwaki z900 bored to 998 still with the high rise handlebars. He wheelied it all the way up that hill after mere hairpin.
Those were the days:-)

Stiggy,
Possibly meet up there across next year at a meeting there sometime..................if we are eventually allowed out to play by Boris ??
Me a Dave D live a few miles apart and have three Z1300's between us, it would be good to meet you on your 1300 and "chew the 1300 fat"
