Left BC in -5c wet-n-ugly conditions and just returned to +18 and the snow is gone ! Good timing ! Varadero was in the high 30'sc and 95+ humidity. The ocean was 28c ! Every thing was perfect ! ...and no mal-functions !!!!!

Welcome back !! Hope you had the time of your life. You sure picked a great time to ditch Canada for a few weeks. Man it's been downright ugly for weather. you didn't miss a damned thing.
That Antinov looks like the perfect jump plane. Elevator high on the fuselage and a stall speed of 30 mph. You could have the pilot run it into a headwind and almost park it in the air while the group get out on a jump. 1000 hp - probably needed 800 of that just to get the thing moving on the runway. Its probably been in Cuba since the cold war. Russian aircraft in Cuba, whoda guessed !!
Cheers,
KB

The Antonov in this case and I suspect most by now, have a POLISH ( Hey Stan) engine. After a couple of hand rotations via the prop. to clear the oil from the bottom Cyl's., The pilots sets his throttle and mixture - hits the starter engagment and the engine fires up within one rotation. Unlike some of our 1300's. !
