Winterrally 2018 Germany
6 years 11 months ago - 6 years 11 months ago
Hi guys
returned yesterday from out Winterrally in Germany. Marvellous Hotel, excellent food, quite some beers, nice spa and we even had a white winter-rally. As usual Peter, the founder of the German interest-group, came by bike. Here some impressions:
The date for the 2019 rally is already fixed:
18th to 20th of January
cheers,
Holger

It's a brave sole that takes a bike out in the winter, especially a 700 pounder. What do you do if the weather turns? Hunker down till the roads get drivable. Always quite a site seeing someone driving with the "outriggers" out. Been there, done that.

Thanks for sharing. Pretty chilly on a bike in the cold. Been there. Drove all year round as a young man when all I had was a bike. Froze my hands and feet off in -20 C before windchill. Got caught in the snow a few times. That really sucks. It did make for some funny memories.

Cant wait for the riding season to be with us again, seems months since we had dry roads in the UK: think Im getting Cabin Fever.
Cheers Tim

Great picture Holger. Is that Peter who was at the german rally last year with his son?. I see Wilfeid was there did he come by sidecar? Great to see another classic too not many of those Martini XS11s about now. Am reduced on running to and from work on an old 600 diversion but at least it keeps my hand in. Any more news on the french rally? Do we have to book with the hotel direct? :woohoo:

Hi Pete
yes, that is "the" Peter you've met last year. He's been the only one (also in the past) with various bikes, mostly with the sidecar in the winter.
For the rally in France I recommend to book directly with the guys (Christian), here is the direct link: www.z1300club-de-france.fr/agenda/club-2...ac-de-der-51290.html
Just noticed Christina left his regular number (+33 663380666) - just wondering if he has so many sixes in his phone-number by intention ...
Try and give him a call to secure a room. The French usually have a lot of bikes there, all very shiny and drive around a lot during the weekend. Enjoy.
Cheers,
Holger
