Water pump cover 14025-1077
8 years 8 months ago
Afternoon Folks,
Apologies in advance for what seems a stoopid question:
The diagram on partzilla seems to show threads - is this why i can't dislodge with rubber mallet from 1981 KZ1300 to replace mechanical seal?
many thanks

I think you are referring to the recess for the O - ring that seals the cover to the block.
If it won't come out remember its been in there a long time and may need some more persuasion.
the cover is held in by two bolts.
hope this helps

I can confirm that that cover simply pulls straight off. However, most of that whole assembly can get really crusty, especially if it's been setting a bit.
Also, you'll get to a point where you've got two or three philips screws that need to come out. You'll almost definitely need some kind impact driver to get them out.
