POSTAGE !!!

Hi all, I have an old '79 Z13, sidecar on it and I also have 2 sets of fiberglass panniers, vintage ones that use to be used on cop bikes down here, one set black and the other set white, i'd probably make one good set out of the two. They are straight sided rectangular boxes, round corners, good lids and well made, was thinking about mounting them somehow. Was looking around ebay the other day and came across a luggage rack for a '79, bit ratty but would probably work to mount the boxes, hard to tell with the photos, price was cheap only $45 US, anywho I email and asked for postage costs .............. $143 US !!!!!!!!! .... after I replaced my jaw that fell to the ground I am thinking the bike looks alright without panniers, and it will be easier to get the back wheel off without them also , anyway it's getting a tad silly with these postage costs, maybe it because of the size of the item ??, couldn't be the weight, heck I had a set of Z13 engine cases mailed to me from Canada and it was cheaper than that, cheers Pete.

The latest gimmick EBayers are playing is to drop the prices to ridiculous amounts and then up charge on the freight and handling. Reason being, they don't have to pay commission on the handling and freight. In the end they make more profit.

Last i heard ebay is charging a final value fee including postage to stop this kawboy Wich is typical the minority of scammers stuff it up for the rest.
Ebays global shipping for larger items is excellent for prices Might be worth asking the seller to list it as an option kza.

Well I give up, couple of seats on e-bay in Canada, I really need a solid steel base as mine is full of rust, they are not cheap but what the heck if I don't spent my money the kids will want it, e-mailed the guy about postage to Australia cause he states that he does international shipping, and I get a reply back

Ebay charges thier final value fee on sale price plus postage so you can't cheat the system anymore. Been that way for a while now. They had no choice, too many sellers with 99 cent items and 50 dollar shipping.

Can you get them sent to a US address that is what I do.
