Thanks kawaBCN,
That's what I need. I've got an adjustable pressure regulator that for some reason I think came preset to 30 PSI.
Does any body know where I can find the operating pressure of the injection system?
Thanks
Bill

I found it 33 PSI at idle. and 36 psi elsewhere. Page 3-23 Voyager supplement.

I'd like to stay as close to the original design specs as possible unfortunately I haven't been able to find any specs for that JECS ZNT 30A fuel pump, the OEM pump.
I'm wondering if, given that the system runs between 33 and 36 PSI, a pump that's rated at 70 something pounds is appropriate. Seems like that much pressure difference is just going to agitate the fuel in the tank as the excess pressure is constantly vented.
Thanks

It's the flow rate that's critical. The pressure regulator will handle the excesss pressure up to the maximum flow rate of the regulator.
So by design, the average engine needs 1/2 pound of fuel per hour per horsepower. Maximum engine power for the KZ1300 or the ZN1300 is 120 HP, so you;re looking for a fuel pump in the range of 60 lbs /hr to maybe 90 lbs/hr. You might be able to go higher depending on the regulator, or you could get a regulator to match the fuel pump flow rate , ie even if you had to get a fuel pump at 150 lbs/hr, as long as the regulator can handle the same output, you'll be fine.
Gasoline weighs 6 lbs / gallon . Some fuel pumps are rated in gallons / hour, so you should be looking for a pump in the range of 10 to 15 gallons / hour

Search the GPZ forums, there is more information on the subject.
On the other hand, do not use a pump with a pressure range greater than 40 PSI, which is the maximum that the fuel lines can withstand.

I plan on fuel injecting my bike as a mod to see how far I can take this project. In my endeavors, I started with the purchase of an Engine Management System named Microsquirt purchased from DIYAUTOTUNE. One of their recommendations for designing your own fuel injection system was this book. If you want to learn so you can talk the talk, I suggest you have a read.
