Maybe what I'm suggesting is silly...

Have you tried driving with the starter lever at 25% of its position to enrich the fuel mixture?

Just for the test.

"DG-6 into 1 exhaust headers and K&N filter"

As am I.

From experience:  If a pilot needle is not showing a response; in my case it was because someone had used one of those damned "Jet Cleaners" and damaged (over-sized the pilot needle port in the venturi.
I was able to repair this but it was very "tricky" and frankly - I think it was more luck then determination.

This is worse than that. Recall I sent a rack to a so-called pro which can back w very bad results, one of which the idle seat and jet had been replaced with god knows what.. threads different, jet length shorter, and bent too. But, even in that 'fixed' position, the mixture was close to optimal... so sigh on the bad work, but good enough to run adequately... not perfect,, but ok.

I have 3 more carb racks headed my way, so I'll have a total of 5 of these things. Between all of them, hope to make one 'perfect' rack. Cause us guys like nice racks!
