I am sorry to have to link to my blog.. But I can no longer cut and paste from candybutt.org to here after the Kz1300 Joomla upgrade

.. Which I understand, from security perspectives..

But to completely reformat from CBA to KZ1300 is very time consuming.
Not sure what to do here.

Anyway.. I've being reworking my carb rack using Scotch's cleaning tool..

I HATE to cross link.. and no not many will take time or energy to look at my site and post back here.

And I'll continue to work on what I can do to 'transform' from CBA to KZ1300 formats.. but until then..

My journey to learn KZ1300 carbs...

I hope you have patience and will comment back here if what you see I am doing is not right.. or could be done better.

Re: My journey to learn KZ1300 carbs...

A few random comments: Again; good to see you diggin’ in to these carbs !
First and foremost; “These carbs have been worked on by wiredgeorge…..”
*If this is the level of “quality” that George is demonstrating then I’ll say right-up-front,” George needs to retire! Unacceptable/deplorable and disgusting!
Fuel connector (and Tee). I’ve rebuilt carbs where these connectors practically fell out! I clean them with lacquer thinner, use a brass wire tube cleaner to clean the inside then soak them in lacquer thinner for about 30 minutes. This rejuvenates the rubber. Dry and a apply some silicone grease. Never had “an old one” leak!
Pilot-needle springs. Use the originals or those in the kits. Longer ones will prematurely stop the needle from closing and that will affect the “3.5” turns count and therefore the initial mixture setting!
Back to George: Those emulsion tubes have been butchered on a wire-wheel. Emulsion-tube won’t fit? There is corrosion/scale in the tower. Remove with a tube-cleaner.
High-speed needles: I don’t understand the use of the 4th groove AND a “spacer”? 3rd slot always – no spacers! Those shown are from a generic kit sold on eBay. I’ve never had an issue with these kits.
Blasting media debris in Enricher and throttle body * If "He" “blasted” the venturis with the throttle-plates in place the “sharp” edges of the throttle plates will have been “rounded” and that could have detrimental effect on tuning. I've always believed that the precision ground edge and the precise fit, is critical ! I’d be very interested in hearing about how these carbs tune and operate from idle through transition!
