E10 FUEL

Hey everyone. here in the UK the government is expected to announce that we have to move to E10 ethanol fuel
With that in mind can I get any experiences that you guys in the USA may have have if you are already using this fuel
Especially reference the rubber seals being destroyed and aluminium eaten away
I am sure there is a lot of scaremongering just as there was when we switched from Regular fuel to unleaded?

Here in the great white north, most regular and mid grade gas is pump labeled: 'May contain up to 10% ethanol' while some higher octane fuels are labeled: 'Contains no ethanol'. To avoid moisture problems, I always use the 'no ethanol. blend when I'm putting the bike into storage for the winter (along with a fuel stabilizer) but for riding season, I use regular gas and haven't experienced any difficulties. Not sure if that's because 10% ethanol isn't a problem or if its because there's not actually any ethanol in the fuel.

I recently rebuilt the carbs on my 84 Ascot which I've owned and ran regular fuel through for over 10 years and there's wasn't any hint of anything degrading inside the carbs.

There's a fairly intensive write up about Ethanol enriched fuels here.
