Inline fuel filters, flooding and gas starvation.

I had to learn the hard way...Get a set of brass floats. Dont use a inline filter. Make sure your gas tank is clean and or lined. Run a gas line from a good petcock with a screen straight to the carb "T"....Period. No more gas starvation or flooded carb bowls.

I have used an inline filter from day one. BUT do not use the paper filters since they will block in no time! Use a filter meant for diesel cars, where the filter element inside is made of plastic. I also use an external shut off valve for the fuel feed and leave the original always open. I normally close the fuel feed couple of hundreds of yards from my garage, this allows the fuel level go lower in the bowls. Next time your start your bike, the bowls will take in fuel when starting, easing the well known problem of our bikes not starting easily after some weeks of non use.
