The making of a BRASS float
9 years 1 month ago
Received a question about how I make the brass floats.
<.... do you just solder these together just curious. >
There are 83 separate processes for creating 1 float - so NO, I don't just solder them together !
It takes 3 hours to make a set of three AFTER all the parts have been individually created. There are 7 individual pieces that make up one float and there multiple steps to create each piece.
I should be charging double !!! :woohoo:

Yes, you should be charging (at least) double. I bought a set of floats from you and feel that I stole them for the price. Your design, engineering expertise, and precision manufacture should be worth 3 times the price you are now receiving.

It's more about keeping these machines on the road.
(besides- scotch needs a new wing-suit !)
Thanks to everyone for purchasing these pieces!

So if you happen to dirty your wing suit while trying to fly through that 7 ft wide crevasse at 125 mph. you'll be using lacquer thinner to clean out the suit???

If that's the case KB, lacquer thinner would be a waste of money !
Fortunately there are no "holes" in the geography in this province. Maybe one in my head, however! :woohoo:

Installed Scotch's brass floats with new fioat valves. What a difference the brass floats make. If you can get a set, do it.
