I did the tests on the engine temp and air temp inputs on the ecu again and they were in spec.
Then I started it and it was all good with no smoke.
I will go back and disconnect them again to see if I can make it run rich again as I'm thinking its the engine temp input that might be the culprit.
Its hard to bask in the glory of fixing something when you don't know how you did it.
Previously I tested the injectors by extending the fuel line and running them off the bike and just observed the spray pattern.
The issue(s) has disappeared ( for now) so I will road test it.

Fuel injectors were leaking and drowning the plugs on startup.
Extra smoke was from un burnt fuel in the pipes.
Also causes earsplitting backfires, went from 100mph to wont start, overnight!
Finally found new injectors, but starter clutch broke a spring.
Waiting for parts
