So the onward saga of the poorly Z13 continues
As if the carb problems ain’t enough to contend with (still playing up) I’ve now got a serious rattle from the bottom end? I’m hoping it’s the starter clutch come loose and is an easy fix but I’ve got a bad feeling about this. It started a while back but originally I put it down to the cam chain with the carbs being out of balance. At first when I warmed the motor up at low revs the noise went away after a few seconds but on my last test run after disappearing to start with it came back worse than ever while riding and weirdly it got worse while hooning around left handers? Any ideas guys? this bike is really testing my patience

Could be any number of things, does the rattle go away when you pull in the clutch? It could just be your clutch plates rattling.

There have been a few reports of the starter clutch coming loose. StanG I believe showed the results of his back 3 years ago? Try a search on the site. Best I can offer at this point. I'm in a freakin hospital at the moment working with a cell phone and no eyeglasses.

Thanks for that, fingers crossed that’s the problem. It definitely sounds like the noise is coming from that area of the motor. I’ll pull it apart and report back
