Excellent work with that cam sprocket holder.It's job is done so it's a kitchen drawer cuz it removes lids too

Have you painted the cylinder block / head? It looks good.
I had the machine-shop "dunk" the head to remove the carbon. Some of the origianl paint came off - too much to ignore.
How did installation of the cam chain roller and chain go?
So far so good. I even remembered those two tiny rubber pieces for the sprocket shaft ! 
feel uncomfortable seeing the cams in with the chain on and no cam caps on
I understand. Take comfort in knowing they are resting peacefully ! 
Hmmmm, Intake manifold test port above #5-6 intake tract. Interesting mod.
Made this about two years ago. Wish I'd done sooner. Checking the sync is as easy as it can be.

The best $550.00 I'ver ever spent (1984). Probably 5 time$ that, now.
Regarding cam chain, no caps.. my bet is no tension on chain from tensioner yet?

Really clean install Sir Scotch. Ready for another engine to work on? Oh SNAP, too early to ask?

Hmmmm, Intake manifold test port above #5-6 intake tract.

The only picture I've got of it.  Basically: 3 mini home-made banjo-bolts with brass tubing.

After using your cleaning tool I decided to run 6 silicon hoses from the vacuum ports (i bought 4 more vacuum take-off bolts) to the rear of the tank under the seat and fit barbed Luer connectors and Luer caps. Have done this on my ZZ-R/ZX1100 too.

Excellent lateral thinking on your ring compressors.  The commercially available clamps are expensive and often too tall for our use.  During the Covid lockdown in the UK, I completely renovated my Suzuki GS550 which I bought in 1980 but which sadly gathered dust and rust in the back of my garage whilst I devoted all available time to my Z1300.  I stripped and rebuilt the engine (not taken apart in over 40 years!) and assembled this ring compressor to fit the pistons into the cylinder block.  It's pretty simple - section of plastic drainpipe tensioned with hose clamp.  This worked very well and I only needed two of them. Think your clamps might be easier to fit/remove but probably need more fabrication?
