Oil Level Glass Seal was created by strate6
Has anyone out there ever removed the Oil Seal and Glass from a Z1300 Clutch Casing and found a sensibly priced replacement oil seal to use ??
My casing is the one from the later (Deep Sump) 6.2L model Z1300 which has a larger glass and oil seal than the earlier (shallow sump) models.

It "looks" to be just a low profile oil seal holding the glass in position as seen in the photo below, but looking at the Genuine Kawasaki Part, its ridiculously expensive.

Any relavent experince appreciated.

I order one for the Voyager, I think it is the same one
$37 on partzilla but it was back order
I think I order from ebay or Zed-parts
but it was about the same price

I have removed one to clean once when I had the cover off for polishing. I think I used an allen key wrapped slightly with cloth or padding in from the slot behind it and gentle pressure against the rear of the glass at opposite sides around the glass.

To the best of my memory the glass and seal are a single part rather than a seal and glass. I could be wrong and just didn't try hard enough to separate them. The glass was contained within the outer edge of the seal rather than being to the rear of the seal

Thank for your reply......................did you replace the glass and seal or re-fit the existing one ??

Lol, it was late 90's! To be honest I just don't remember but I probably just bought a new one. I remember being worried when I tapped it back into place but it's okay if you go slowly

Thanks for confirming.

I think it will have to be replaced................but at £29 for just a seal with glass is ridiculous !
