Hey Pete,
I have a question for you regarding suppliers of engine valves- as I recall you did a recent top end over haul.
The 3 names that come up most often are Z-Power and Zed-Parts --- both in the U.K and MCG in germany.
On paper at least, Zed-parts have a big/best choice with stainless steel valves , but they have none available at present.
So that leaves the other 2 with reproduction parts -- which maybe quite adequate for what I need.
So the question is really, is it better to go to one place and buy everything : valves, guides, mechanical seal etc. to minimise shipping costs. And who might that best supplier be ?.
Or there maybe someone here in North America that I don't know about.

I got most parts from the Germans, found the head gasket was cheaper from England, although I have used generic ones and haven't had any problems (touch wood), the thing that blows out costs is postage, some countries are cashing in on the increase in on-line shopping to increase their shipping charges, I have never had any problems with the supply from the german site, and he has said that he has parts for most Kawasakis not just the 1300
after tuesday even the calendar goes WTF

TH
I have never changed or replaced the valve guides just the seals themselves.
Zed Parts & Z Power both supply the same standard K parts & are both very reliable suppliers.
I personally would try to get as much from one supplier as possible to minimize postage.
We too are absolutely flogged by shipping charges when buying from the USA for some reason.
I recently bought some small parts for $90 from the USA & the shipping was $40........but than had to pay a further £28 taxes when they arrived in the UK.
Its a rip off !!!

If you're in the US, give Kim at Carolina Cycle a call. He's done several sets of stainless valves for me. If you ship him the head and cams, he'll send it back with the valve clearances already set to factory specs. The only problem I've had with the stainless valves is, they have to be set closer to the tight side, or they rattle. Kim can also make valve guides and seats, if needed.
