Engine removal

I need to remove and reinstall my engine. Is there anyway to remove with out a engine hoist?

I have never work on the 13 but have taken engines out myself by laying the bike on its side and lifting frame off.I used wood blocking to level everything up. Hope this helps. Pete

I agree with Pete.

It is easier to lay the bike on its side to remove the engine.

If you intend to strip the engine, then if you remove the top end down to the cylinders & remove the sump / oil pan then its quite easy to lift out sideways (with 2 people).
