ZG1300 Power Restriction was created by ZRX1300
Hi. l ask elsewhere but no answer yet, the German market 1986 ZG1300 DFI (INJECTED) has a restriction too limit HP for that market, l have the opportunity to buy one in Australia but the power restriction is really painfully slow, anyone know how the restriction was done and can it be removed?  Many thanks.

Maybe Holger could help out here with camshaft specs for the ZG1300 please. We have no access to a ZG1300 service manual.

There's quite a difference between the camshaft specs for the KZ1300 and the ZN1300 Voyager. The KZ1300 cams are more aggressive while the ZN1300 cams are more torquey .
KZ1300 cams - 270 duration intake  280 duration exhaust
The intake closes 25 degrees later on the KZ than the ZN giving the KZ more time to fill the cylinder with a fresh charge.
The exhaust opens  15 degrees earlier than the ZN giving the KZ more time to exhaust the spent fuel so less torque but allows for faster higher reving.

ZN1300 cams - 260 duration intake and 260 duration exhaust. Much more milder cams that don't fill the cylinders as well but allow the power stroke more time to develop power

The service limit height of the cam lobes is the same within .2mm for the KZ and the ZN although neither service manual tells of the measurement of the base circle of the cams so I'm unable to tell you the lift of the lobes which also would be relevant.

I'll suggest that the ZG1300 Swiss model may have even milder cams than the European spec ZG but without a ZG service manual to confirm , I can only speculate.
