I had an H1 in the same color. I've been told that the power delivery is way different, less peaky, on the H2.
Beautiful Bike Congratulations!

My latest favorite movie is Top Gun Maverick. In the second from last scene of the movie, Maverick and Rooster are working on the P51 Mustang engine and peeking around the corner of the Mustang is the iconic 1985 GPz900r and just in front of it is a 1972 Kawasaki H2. If you didn't know the '72 H2 by color of the tank and front fender and the angular bezel of the speedo and tach, you'd miss it. I know the Tom Cruise owns the GPz900r and the P51 Mustang but there's no mention of a 1972 H2 anywhere so I wonder if it's also his bike. It certainly wouldn't surprise me.
Next time you watch Top gun Maverick, keep an eye out for the H2.

It's 1974, I'm a high school senior. The ride? A Honda CB 750 with Wixom brothers fairing and bags.
At Manchester and Lincoln blvd, at the light, a 750 pulled up alongside. He wanted to race. Hey, I read Cycle magazine, I know I have no hope.
But I egg him on.
Big rpm from the Honda 4, enough blue smoke to kill every mosquito in the county from the Kawi.
Light turns green, I pretend to launch.
I can still remember the Kawi pilots face, but not name.
He launched. Front wheel pawing the sky. He shifts to second, front wheel drops to kiss the tarmac and BANG!
Instant weave of death.
Remember the kid sliding across with t-shirt and 3/4 helmet.
I motored on.
Saw the kid 3 weeks later, he was still sporting back rash, the bike was sold, his rich parents just bought a new, tamer, water buffalo for him.
He was good about the meeting, said it happened so fast... That kid later went on to ride pro MX, but never made the 'big times'.
Memories.
LOL.
